We stumbled into Castroville, a place unlike any other in Texas. This charming town situated just west of San Antonio was settled in the 1840’s by immigrants from the Alsace region of France. These settlers brought with them their own style of architecture, much of which stands to this day. In many ways, the town itself is one of the main attractions in Castroville, but it is by no means the only one. Step back into the 17th century in the Steinbach Haus, traverse miles of hiking trails at the Castroville Regional Park, play a round of golf at the Alsatian Golf Club, or stay at the historic Landmark Inn.
