We started with a specific destination in mind. West Jefferson, NC where our dear neighbors and friends Emily and Mike own a beautiful vacation home. They gave us a warm welcome and treated us with a delicious dinner and great hospitality. The highlight of the evening was a campfire on their beautiful property on top of a mountain.

After spending the night in our comfortable RV Emily and Mike took us tubing. We hopped on the tubes on the “New River” in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Funny enough, the “New River” is actually one of the oldest rivers on the North American continent. Not to forget, it is one of the few rivers that flows from North to South. Drifting down on our tubes, an occasional rapid kept us looking ahead and excited.

I highly recommend this area, for its stunning North Carolina landscape, and its vicinity to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway with unforgettable vistas.
